Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery and Belle Meade bourbon have a really cool history. Belle Meade was originally a pre-prohibition bourbon. The distillery was owned by Charles Nelson, after prohibition the distillery never recovered and was closed. In 2006 Charles Nelson’s great-great-great grandsons Andy and Charlie Nelson reopened the Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery and re-launched the Belle Meade name. When the brand was re-launched the bourbon was being sourced from MGP, but now through years of researching and seeking capital, they are once again making bourbon from Charles Nelson's original recipes and putting bottles of their small-batch bourbon on shelves!

Nose: Honey, maple syrup, caramel, oak and orange zest.

Palate: Sweet, fruity and spicy. With caramel, toffee, butterscotch and hints of rye and oak.

Finish: A nice long finish with cherry, caramel and rye.
