The A. Smith Bowman Distillery is a micro distillery owned by Sazerac Company and is located near Fredericksburg Virginia. They produce many different brands and types of spirits. They are mostly known for their Bowman line. Bowman Bothers Small Batch, Abraham Bowman Bourbon, George Bowman Rum, and John J. Bowman Single Barrel Bourbon.

John J. Bowman Single Barrel Bourbon is a very unique and interesting bourbon. The mash process and first distillation takes place at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, then it is shipped to the Bowman Distillery in Virginia where it is redistilled two more times. It is a little weird but the results are great.

Nose: Great nose, caramel, vanilla pudding, cherry pie, light oak and tobacco

Palate: This is one amazing pour. It is silky smooth and very creamy, and it has tons of flavor. Up front there is maple, brown sugar, buttered popcorn, and apple pie. As the sweet starts to die down you are hit with cinnamon, cloves, and cherry wood.

Finish: Nice medium finish, not to long not to short. Caramel, cherry and oak.
