Old Weller Antique is one of the best quality of bourbon to dollar values you can find on the shelf. Old Weller Antique or OWA shares the same mash bill as the very sot after Van Winkles. Not only does OWA share the same mash bill it also shares the same proof as Old Ripe Van Winkle 10 Year. So OWA is the same proof and mash as the 10 year Van Winkle, the only difference is the years in the barrel and not being pick to be a Van Winkle.
The great thing about single barrel selections is this barrel could be aged more than 7 years and could have been picked to be a Van Winkle, but The Wine and Cheese Place got to it first, and boy did they pick a winner.

Nose: This OWA has one amazing nose. There is a lot of caramel and maple at first fallowed by baked apples, honey, orange zest, cinnamon and oak!

Palate: Wow is all I got for this, just amazing! Hot at first but fades quick. After the first sip, the heat is gone and it is just tons of flavor. Honey comb, maple syrup, gram crackers, and candied oranges hit you first, followed by sweet cinnamon, nutmeg, baked bread and toasted oak!

Finish: The finish is quite long. Lots of oak and cinnamon sugar!
