All right it is Bourbon Heritage Month, so I figured I need to do a review on one of my favorite bourbons.  My last Booker’s review was the 2016-01 Bluegrass batch. This is the second batch of 2016, Annis Answer. Annis Answer is just a little lower in proof and a few months younger then the Bluegrass batch.

Booker’s bourbon is a small batch bourbon from Jim Beam Distillery, it is uncut and unfiltered and bottled at cask strength. All batches vary in proof and in age, meaning every new batch that is released will be unique and different. With Booker’s being a high proof bourbon that is uncut and unfiltered, you can probably guess, that I always have a bottle around. Booker’s is known for its high proofs, and big bold favors.

This is what the Booker’s website has to say about it.

“The batch is made up of barrels from four different production dates stored in 5 different storage areas. The oldest barrels in the batch were 7 years, 1 month old and the youngest barrels were 6 years, 2 month old. This batch has an aroma that opens up well after a short period of time in the glass. The vanilla comes through with a lot of other sweet notes as most batches of Bookers. The mouth feel is good with a little more heat that lingers on the back of your throat which I appreciated on the cool morning I sampled the batch. With a small amount of water added, this batch opens up nice. If Booker were still alive I know he would say “I done good” on this batch.”
