Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year is the youngest and cheapest bourbon in the Van Winkle line up, but just because it’s younger and cheaper does not make it an inferior bourbon. It is still one of the most sought after bourbons in the world.

Aged for 10 years and bottled at 107 proof, Van Winkle 10 year is in perfect harmony. The age is perfect, not too oaky with the right amount of sweetness. Plus the high proof is always a good thing for me. Van Winkle 10 year bourbon is bottled almost at barrel proof. There is just a splash of limestone water added to bring it down to 107 proof. For me this is one amazing bourbon.

Nose: There is a lot of caramel and maple at first followed by baked cherry pie, honey, cinnamon and oak!

Palate: Amazing! Hot at first but fades quick. Packed with tons of flavor. Honey, caramel, pecans, and cherries hit you first, followed by sweet cinnamon, freshly baked wheat bread and toasted oak!

Finish: The finish is long. Lots of oak, cinnamon sugar, and toasted pecans!
