Bulleit Barrel Strength Bourbon is a review I've been wanting to do for sometime now, and now I finally get my chance.

The Bulleit brand is owned by Diageo, and the bourbon is characterized by having a high rye mash bill. The rye content is 28% and it is aged at least 6 years. The bourbon is produced at the Four Roses distillery in Lawrenceburg Kentucky.

Bulleit Barrel Strength will be Bulleit's first new release since 2013. In 2013 Bulleit released their 10 year version of their standard bourbon. Up till then it was just Bulleit Bourbon and Bulleit Rye.

I really hope this barrel strength version is here to stay.

Nose: The nose is amazing; you get burnt brown sugar, toasted marshmallow, sweet corn, pecans, with a hint of oak.

Palate: That first sip is a blast of flavor. Dried cherries, caramel toffee and candied pecans hit you first. As it sits on the plate a big peppery and cinnamon kick comes in, then finally there is oak and spicy rye.

Finish: This Bourbon seems to last forever. Toasted nuts, sweet vanilla and rye spice!
