Last month I reviewed Jim Beam’s “new” Double Oak, so why not continue where I left off, by reviewing another Beam bourbon, from the same low rye mash-bill category; The Small Batch Signature Craft 12 yrs.

Nose:
Really oaky upfront, closely followed by maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Palate:
Even though Signature Craft is a low rye bourbon, the rye spices instantly jumps out of the pool, followed by dry wood, caramel and dark plums.

Finish:
Sweet at first, then a peppery note steps in and lingers in the medium finish.
